General Enrollment Regulations of Xilingol Vocational College

    Xilingol Vocational College was established in May 2003, under the approval of the government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the Ministry of Education as a recorded full-time ordinary institution of Higher Vocational Education. Old school campus covers an area of 415,000 square meters and a construction area of 140,000 square meters. The college has an in-service staff of nearly 900, among which a population of 307 are senior professional or technical personnels. There are 13,577 full-time students and more than 4,600 registered students for adult- or distance- education. And only in 2011, the college has fulfilled various training of 22,000 individuals in the field of in-service staff training for enterprises and institutions in Xilingol League, employment and reemployment training and training for the transferred farmers and herdsmen. The college develops 13 teaching units, such as Medical School, School of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering , Department of Grassland Ecology and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary ，Normal Education Department, IT Engineering Department, Department of Economic Management, Mongolia Language Culture and Art Department, Physical Education Department, Shcool of Qibleg International Morin Khuur , College of Radio and Television, Continuing Education College ,National Secondary Vocational School, FuDa Drivers Training School and so on. In addition, it also sets up 32 Higher Vocational Education majors such as Nursing, Operation and Maintenance of Power Plant Equipment, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Mongolian Broadcast and Show Anchoring and so forth as well as over 30 Secondary vocational majors. In order to carry forward the excellent traditional culture, promote the research of Mongolian-Yuan culture and push forward the inscription of the site of the Yuan Dynasty Upper Capital on the World Heritage List, fully play the leading role of college in the construction of advanced culture in the region, the college established the Xilingol Institute of Xanadu Culture. To meet the needs of teaching and training, the college established and managed, in collaboration with the Institute of Botany of Chinese Academy of Sciences, an Institute of the Grassland Science. Furthermore, 12 additional bases for teaching, research and training have been set up in the college, including the Institute of the Mongolian Culture, Three Issues Facing Agriculture and Husbandry service Centre, International Education Exchange Center, the Professional Training Center of the New Curriculum for middle school teachers in Xilingol League, Training and Testing Center for Standard Chinese, the Training and Testing Center of Mongolia Standard Phonetics for Eight Provinces, Tianma Travel Agency, Xilinhe River Tourism Resort, Automobile Test Center , Ethnic Animation Base and so on. Moreover, Xilingol vocational college also established extramural training and employment bases with more than 200 enterprises and institutions both in and out of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
    As the only college in Xilingol district, Xilingol Vocational College always observe the rules of higher education, and timely put forward a developmental goal of the sustainable development of Xilingol Vocational College. The college has proposed the idea of national vocational education that is suitable for each individual's development both for the staff and the students. Taking teaching as the main task, The college adopts Mongolian-Chinese bilingual teaching and explores work-integrated learning education pattern that fits for the development of students. The college is cultivating students to be proficient in both Mongolian and Chinese, skilled in high techniques and therefore, able to meet the needs of local economic development. Xilingol Vocational College has made tremendous contribution to the Xilingol's social and economical development.
    The employment rate of graduates remains over 90%. In 2007, it was awarded “5.1” Labor Award by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In 2008, Xilingol Vocational college passed the Higher Vocational Talents Training Evaluation, and was awarded “The Advanced Unit for National Unity and Progress”. by the CCP Xilingol League Committee. In 2009, the Labor and Social Security Department, Personnel Department, the Department of Education, Department of Finance of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region jointly granted Xilingol Vocational college the title of “the Region's Advanced college in employment training of 2009”. Since the year of 2009, the college has been granted by the CCP Xilingol League Committee and the Xilingol League Government Office “The Advanced Unit for Comprehensive Management in the Maintenance of Social Order”. For five consecutive years (2007-2011)， the college has been awarded “The Advanced Collective in College Employment” by the Education Department of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In 2011, the college was offered a seat as a member of the core circle in the “Far-east Educators Association Summit of 2011”.
